In All Reality

I spend a lot of time reading through things on the interwebs. I’ve decided to compile the things I’ve found useful into weekly lists for the benefit of all (or possibly just my memory). For the acronym-savvy, I’m going to call these LUTs.

An examination of one of the perils of using social media at the forefront of corporate or personal branding. Cripsin Porter + Bogusky recently committed an industry faux pas that cost them credibility and disrupted their happy-times Twitter feed on their site.

There’s been a lot happening on the Web lately. Twitter is constantly in the news. There’s a guy using Craigslist to kill people. “Social Media” is now the newest trigger-happy member of the buzzword family. It raises a lot of interesting questions and observations about how our culture is being changed by this giant connecting force, and what some of the impacts of those changes may be.

Update: for an alternate viewpoint, and one that I agree with wholeheartedly, read Twitter is going to die, by Eric Karjaluoto. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a bit of an oddity when it comes to my profession.  Web designers tend to be trendy to a fault, early-adopters, eager to use the latest…
