Prodigy Pixel

With my responsibilities as Web Designer / Developer at Prodigy Pixel came the task of redesigning the company’s website. At the time I came on staff, the “site” existed as a temporary splash image with the bare minimum contact info. The idea was to create a site that could be easily maintained, would function as a point of contact for clients interested in working with us, contain any portfolio work we wanted, and have a blog functionality for the rare times we would find to write something out.
One of the hallmarks of the design work of Prodigy is a highly textured approach. I decided to use this texture for the overall page background, with a stark white for the actual page content to serve as contrast. Handwritten fonts and hand-drawn styles were used to bring emphasis to certain areas of the page, such as the social networking links. The entire site is setup in WordPress, with some custom coding to make it function more like a CMS/portfolio, while still retaining its inherent blog capability. As with any design firm’s site, it is a constant work in progress — such is the curse of designing for yourself!
