Biography.com – Abraham Lincoln

Based on our previous working relationship, and the relative ease with which we accomplished project goals, Aardvark Brigade approached me again about a project that was a bit more high profile – for A&E’s Biography.com. This project would entail the creation of highly cross-browser compatible pages and integrating a look and feel into Bio.com’s Brightcove media player. All of this would then be published to the Bio.com site in the form of a set of pages dedicated to Abraham Lincoln, in honor of his 200th birthday.
I learned a lot during the course of this project. I was responsible for taking the design mocks and converting them into the actual presentational markup to be used on the site. There were some interesting obstacles, such as the necessity to avoid overwriting the global styles that Bio.com uses, as well as a lack of staging area to test the visual result of the media player XML integration.
All in all, this was a fun project, and I got to work closely with the guys at AB, as well as some contacts at A&E by proxy. You can view the final project at this location, and there are some screenshots below:
Note: all work done under contract with Aardvark Brigade.
