It’s always a good idea to try and learn from your peers. I try and follow the articles from industry experts and other people influential in web design and development on a regular basis. And in doing so the other day, I found this post by Jason Santa Maria. Cameron Moll left an interesting comment showcasing his first site as well.
Basically, Jason waxes nostalgic about his first personal site design, and the drive behind it (landing a job). I can really relate to that, because it seems like every time I’m looking for a new job I give this place an overhaul *cough cough* Right now? *cough*
But he brings about a good point: it’s important to remember where we’ve been so we can learn from it, grow from our mistakes, improve upon our successes, and generally just strive to be better. Seeing some of this past work from such a huge professional example gives me some comfort: we all start out small (and often crappy).
So, to that end, I’ve decided to provide a couple links to some old versions of my domain, some of which are more practice idea than serious attempt.
There were more false starts and snippets along the way, but some of those have been misplaced or are simply so incomplete there’s really nothing to show. Anyway, enjoy the walk down memory lane. Try not to laugh too much.

I like your latest “about” page way better than the old ones. Maybe that’s because this time, I’m in it :-)
